]]>If you have perfume for a long time it will start to oxidize. This is perfectly normal. There are circumstances in which this may be accelerated or delayed. Of course, you want your perfume to stay “good” as long as possible. In this blog, I’m going to explain to you the best way to do that. If you want to store your perfume properly, it is first good to know which elements have a bad influence on the quality of your perfume. These are:
So it is wise to expose your perfume to this as little as possible.
Heat
Avoidance is a must when storing a perfume long and well. Perfect places for this are a basement or in the refrigerator. But if you don’t have a cellar at your disposal and you don’t like the refrigerator that much, you can also store it in a dark cupboard placed in a cool place.
Sunlight
avoidance sounds very easy yet this is something that often goes wrong. As long as you always put your perfume back in the same dark place, there is nothing wrong.
Temperature fluctuations
you often have in a bathroom. This is also the very reason why we advise against storing your perfume here.
Oxygen
can be avoided by making sure your perfume bottle is tightly closed.
The above tips only describe how best to store perfume at home. But you also want to bring your perfume. Which is perfect for that:
TP Travelspray
is a perfume that you can easily take with you in your bag. Also, if you want to bring perfume, you should make sure that his elements remained avoided as much as possible. Do not leave your perfume in the car as it can get quite hot. The TP spray has an aluminum sleeve to avoid sunlight.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Within the men’s perfume category, cologne and eau de toilette are very well known. This is also from history what was most commonly worn by men. From this you can already see which fragrance categories were already labeled the best perfume for men back then. Citrus, woods, spices and green notes were very popular ingredients for men’s perfumes. There is a big difference between women’s and men’s skin so some perfumes also turn out better on a man’s skin than on a woman’s:
– Men have higher sweat and sebum production
– A man’s PH value is lower than a woman’s, meaning that a man’s skin is more acidic
– The skin of a man is a lot thicker than that of woman
If we start looking at today’s perfume for him, we still see many of the same categories but there will be an overlap with women’s perfumes. We see more sweet and floral perfumes coming by. Some scents of these are:
CARAMEL
LE159: Unique, elegant and despite being sweet, still very masculine. When gentlemen wear this perfume, they become irresistible because say it yourself, who doesn’t love KARAMEL.
FLOWERY
TM006: This is a unique perfume in which rose is most evident. This perfume exudes elegance and class and is just too good to pass up.
Yet we still find typical men’s perfumes in the Top 3:
1. LE101
Fragrance category (main accord): warm spicy. Most clearly perceptible: cinnamon, leather and amber
2. LE100
Odor category (main accord): maritime. Most noticeable: sea notes, grapefruit and lavender
3. LE307
Fragrance category (main accord): fresh spicy. Most clearly perceptible: ambroxan, bergamot and sichuan pepper
All of these delicious scents are available in a refillable perfume bottle at any of the

Most know the
Magnolia
as the beautiful tree with tulip-shaped flowers in pink, white or purple but the flowers of this tree are also made into fragrance oil. Within the Magnolia group, there are several varieties. The species used to make fragrance oil from is Magnolia Grandiflora but like almost every other fragrance oil, Magnolia is available in both essential and synthetic varieties. Magnolia has a sweet, delicate fragrance. The fragrance is reminiscent of sweet fresh neroli, powdery violets and roses.
The fragrance oil is obtained by steam distillation. Magnolia flowers are pressurized by steam. This releases the volatile particles and this is then cooled again. The different substances start to separate, leaving the oil layer floating on the scented water (hydrolate). The essential oil is known for its regenerative effect on the skin. It will renew and even out your skin.
The scent of magnolia has an uplifting effect and especially when mixed with other fragrance notes, it will have a positive effect on your mood. Magnolia comes in several women’s and unisex fragrances. Some fragrances in which Magnolia is most evident are:
LA139:
This is a fresh and floral women’s fragrance where lychees, magnolia and pepper are most evident. We describe it as elegant and charming. In addition, it has a medium-heavy sillage.
LA209:
A floral fruity women’s fragrance with a special sparkle. Cranberry, lychees and magnolia are evident in this popular perfume. It has a medium-heavy sillage and is good for casual wear.
TN014:
A delightful unisex perfume clear magnolia accords. This perfume is floral woody. The description of this perfume is charming and elegant. In addition to magnolia, sapodilla is clearly discernible and this perfume has a medium-heavy sillage.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Even though agar sounds new to many people, however, this is a fragrance product that has been used for decades is various cultures for certain rituals. Considering this tree originated in Southeast Asia, it is also here where agar is often described in history. It was often used as incense and eventually as part of perfumes. It was also used in medicines. In ancient China, it was used to promote blood and lymph circulation and remove bad Chi.
The resinous wood of the Aquilaria tree is praised in many cultures for its unique fragrance. It is used for incense and perfume. Agarwood is a very expensive wood because it is rare
Agarwood has a warm and soothing fragrance. It is very unique and very expensive. Consequently, it is among the top 5 most expensive essential oils. It is also possible to buy the wood yourself. Agar is available in different gradations. The most well-known are the Float or Sink quality. Float means that this wood would float when you put it in water. This is because of the oils this wood contains. However, the Sink quality is the most expensive variant. This wood sinks to the bottom because it contains heavy essential oils. This oil is extracted by steam distillation.
Agar is unmissable in today’s perfume world. Many perfume houses have since released their “ode” to this wonderfully fragrant oil by creating a perfume in which they clearly mention “old” in the name of the perfume. Also within our TapParfum range we have a number of perfumes in which we let agar (oud) play the leading role. Some of these perfumes are.
LE145
: This is a classic men’s perfume that contains fresh notes of bergamot in addition to overly warm notes of agarwood.
TN008
: This unisex perfume is distinctly woody. The fragrance notes that emerge in this are, in addition to agar, rosewood and sandalwood.
TN020
: Again, a unisex perfume. This perfume gives a fresh green approach to agar. The incense provides warmth and the cannabis and green notes provide the fresh hue.
✓ Countries where the Aquilaria tree is found are Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, China and Myanmar.
✓ The fragrant agar has been used as incense in traditional sacred celebrations by Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims for more than two thousand years.
✓ Biblical books such as Numbers and Psalms already describe the use of agarwood in perfumes.
✓ A liter of agarwood oil cost an average of $12,000 in 2007.
✓ Agarwood is becoming increasingly rare. As of July 1, 1975, agarwood is listed on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (
CITES
) listed for Protection of Endangered Species.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Among women, you don’t encounter much lavender. This is one of those typical aromatic fragrances that many women find very pleasant yet not often found in women’s perfumes. Unisex is very much on the rise right now. The nice thing is that there are a little more options within this category. And how nice it is that you and your partner can wear the same scents.
Despite the different categories, we find that it is not so black and white these days. Men and women are increasingly choosing what they like for themselves instead of looking at the label. Regularly, men come along who like to wear a rose fragrance, and on the other hand, more and more women are choosing an aromatic fragrance.
We at TapParfum® are a proponent of someone choosing for themselves what they like and this is independent of the pigeonhole it is placed in. Choose your own scent!
]]>So your sense of smell helps you taste food and drink. Within the animal kingdom, sense of smell is very important, a wonderful example of this is for example with calves and cubs where sense of smell helps them to be able to recognize their own mother.
One obvious feature we discuss in this blog is scent and your memory. In fact, we as humans have an olfactory memory. This allows you to remember events from your childhood, for example. For example I met someone who every Sunday with her whole family, eat vegetable soup at Grandpa and Grandma’s house. As soon as she smells the scent of a maggi plant, she immediately thinks of that time.
But the same goes for certain perfumes. We have heard very often that someone used to have such a nice vacation and wore the same fragrance there every time. That fond memory is now linked to that smell.
This, of course, can be for better or for worse. A particular scent can also be linked to a not-so-pleasant memory, which is why you often see a person prefer to avoid that scent forever. In short, smell is an important part of the human body and your state of mind.
This is also why it is so important to pick a fragrance that suits you well. Every time you spray on your perfume can provide a cheery start to the day.[/vc_column_text] [/vc_column] [/vc_row] ]]>
